OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2012. So far Uniastrum has received around 300 entries, which can be viewed on the Bank’s website at http://students.uniastrum.ru/.

Judging will take place November 1-15. The winner of the competition will be invited by Uniastrum to conclude a contract worth Rb 100,000 and his or her design will feature on Uniastrum Bank cards, effectively commanding a viewing audience of thousands all over Russia. The two runners-up will each receive an Apple iPad.

To take part in the competition, visit http://students.uniastrum.ru/ or the website of citycelebrity.ru, Russia’s biggest crowdsourcing platform and partner to the Bank’s design initiative. The competition is open to anyone aged 16 and over and resident in the Russian Federation, be they professional designers or enthusiastic amateurs.

Entrants are asked to come up with an original design concept for a series of Visa and MasterCard cards that includes 4 categories: Electron/Maestro, Classic/Standard, Gold and Platinum. The design can take any form, provided that it accords with Uniastrum’s corporate style, can be suitably used on a bankcard, incorporates all the features listed in the competition guidelines, and does not infringe copyright law.

“It’s been just over a month since the competition kicked off and we’ve received a large number of entries, rich in design and diversity. Because the contest is attracting such keen interest, we decided to extend the closing date for another month,” notes Margarita Gerasimova, Uniastrum’s Vice President of Marketing. “We’ve already starting posting the entries on the competition website for all to see. On the one hand this helps to make the competition more open and transparent, and, on the other, it allows prospective entrants to take a look at the designs that have already been submitted before uploading their own work.”
