VMZ Confirms Its Quality Management System Compliance with Standard
OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2012. Vyksa Steel Works (OJSC VMZ, Nizhny Novgorod region, part of the United Metallurgical Company, CJSC OMK) has confirmed its quality management system’s compliance with the requirements of the STO Gazprom 9001-2006 Standard until 2015, based on the results of a recertification inspection audit performed at the enterprise in the second half of July 2012.
Experts from the company Russian Register performed an audit at pipe and arc welding facilities, Mill 5000, the central plant’s laboratory, the engineering and technological center, technology and quality, logistics, personnel, production, power supply and repair, IT departments, and the labor safety and environmental department at VMZ.
During the audit, the inspectors assessed product design and production, as well as personnel competence. They also monitored suppliers, production planning and equipment repair.
Vyksa Steel Works was one of the first Russian enterprises to receive a certificate of compliance with the STO Gazprom 9001-2006 Standard in 2009. This certification allows CJSC OMK to take part in tenders for Vyksa pipe supplies, including for OJSC Gazprom and its subsidiaries.
