Installation of 440-Ton-Travelling Crane Started at Leningrad NPP-2
OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2012. The Specialists of TITAN-2 Holding’s subsidiary - Installation and Construction Directorate No. 90 have started installation of the main travelling crane of the turbine island.
The specialists from the installation organization have installed two girders of the travelling crane. The weight of each part is over 100 tons. Currently, the runways are being assembled, mock-up pre-assembly of the crane crabs is being performed, and electric installation to be performed by the specialists from the Company OJSC Sosnovoborelektromontazh, a member of TITAN-2 Holdingthe work is being prepared for.
All in all four travelling cranes will be installed in the plant's turbine island. The load capacity of the heaviest duty crane is 440 tons, the capacity of three auxiliary cranes, the equipment for which will be delivered to the construction site in October will be 50, 16, and 15 tons.
Putting into operation of the main travelling crane is the milestone event of this year for the nuclear power plant construction site. The main crane is intended to move super-heavy loads in the turbine island of the NPP: It is supposed to perform the load-lifting operations both during the construction period and during the power unit operation. It will help the specialists from MSU-90, JSC to assemble the turbine plant, the generator stator, and other heavy-weight equipment. The crane operation is supposed to start in this November.
