OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2012. A Commissioning Ceremony was convened for the 2# Crosscut Unit (2250mm) under Hanbao Hot Rolling Project of Handan Iron & Steel Works (a subsidiary of Hebei Iron & Steel Group). The technology and machinery equipment under this works are fully in charge by MCC-SFRE Heavy lndustry & Equipment Co., Ltd. (MCC-SFRE), reported the press-centre of MCC. 

Executive Vice General Manager Zhao Yonglong, Assistant General Manager & Director of R&D Center of MCC-SFRE were present at this event. The ceremony symbolized that the very first fully-made-in-China crosscut unit was smoothly put into commissioning.

This unit is an item under the Overall Planning of Industrial Upgrading Program of Hebei Iron & Steel Group. MCC-SFRE is responsible for all the technical matters and University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) take in charge of the electronic control.

This is the first time for Chinese enterprises to complete the independent assembly of such a high-tech production line, which is featured by a synergy of enterprise, academia and research institutes, as well as the complete function and device configuration. The machinery equipment, hydraulic system, lubricating system and pneumatic system are designed, manufactured and supplied by MCC-SFRE. The worldwide advanced technical process and equipment for this unit were also provided by MCC-SFRE.

Thanks to the common efforts made by all the relevant parties, the installation and commissioning work of this unit have been fulfilled, and the facility was formally put into operation in September.

The smooth commissioning of this unit has set up an important precedent for the independent assembly and EPC contracting of crosscut unit. Accordingly, the long-term monopoly by foreign enterprises in the technology for crosscut unit of large-size precision hot rolled plate has been thus ended.
