Aeroflot Traffic and Capacity Figures Reached Record Levels
OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2012. JSC “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” traffic and capacity figures reached record levels in August and 8 months of 2012.
In August 2012passenger turnover of the company went up by 19.1% against the same period in 2011 and reached record level of 5,201 mln passenger-kilometers. The international passenger turnover totaled 3,567 mln passenger-kilometers which is 22.5% more compared to the same period of 2011. The domestic passenger turnover increased by 12.3% against August 2011 and amounted to 1,634 mln passenger-kilometers.
Seat load factor in August 2012 reached the highest level in recent years – 85.7%, revenue load factor totaled 68.6%.
Total passenger traffic increased by 25.3% and reached an all-time monthly record amounting to 1,839.1 ths passengers. The international passenger traffic rose by 26.6% (+239.9 ths passengers) hitting 1,142.0 ths passengers. The number of passengers served on domestic lines was 697.1 ths which is 23.1% more (+130.9 ths passengers) against August 2011.
Aeroflot cargo-mail tonnage totaled 16,966 tonne which is 27.7% more compared to August 2011.
The results for first 8 months of 2012 show that passenger turnover of Aeroflot was 32,866 mln passenger-kilometers, which represents 19.2% (+5,289 mln pkm) increase compared with the results for 8 months of 2011. The number of carried passengers increased by 26.1% (+2,393 ths passengers) to become 11,570 ths passengers. The seat load factor totaled 77.8%.
