OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2012. Russian Helicopters, part of state defence holding Oboronprom and a leading global designer and manufacturer of helicopters, announces its participation in the eighth Aviasvit-XXI international air show, taking place on 27 September-1 October at the Kiev-Antonov airbase outside the Ukrainian capital.

The Russian Helicopters display can be found at stand 115.

At Aviasvit-XXI, Russian Helicopters will host a conference on new approaches to after-sales service and maintenance for Russian-built helicopters. Under discussion will be the company’s new system for certifying repair and maintenance companies and service centres.

Ukraine is one of the largest operators of Russian-produced helicopters, and demand for new helicopters in the country is high. At the air show, Russian Helicopters will display the search-and-rescue Ka-32A11BC, the medical configuration of the light Ka-226T and various versions of the Ansat, as well as two of the company's latest developments, the Mi-171A2 and the Ka-62.

Of particular interest to potential buyers in Ukraine will be the Mi-171A2, the latest addition to the Mi-8/17 family. The Mi-171A2 builds on all of the experience accumulated over years of operation of different versions of the Mi-8/17, and is the most advanced version of this distinguished model.

Ukrainian operators will also get their first look at the new medium multi-role Ka-62, which made its international debut at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK in July. Constructed using the latest technologies and materials that make it both light and reliable, the Ka-62 is a single-rotor design with a shrouded vertically mounted multi-blade tail rotor. It is equipped with advanced on-board systems including a Transas glass cockpit, while Turbomeca Ardiden 3G engines provide high speed and fuel efficiency.

The Ka-226T is the latest version of the Ka-226, which has an excellent operating reputation. It is equipped with a new reduction gearbox and an economic Arrius 2G1 engine made by Turbomeca.

The multirole Ka-32A11BC is the latest version of the Ka-32, and is equipped with advanced avionics and multifunctional equipment. It can be used for a variety of purposes, including transporting passengers and goods, construction work, firefighting, search-and-rescue, emergency evacuation and routing patrolling operators, and can also load and unload ships both anchored and while underway. Additional equipment is available to facilitate all of these operations and can be installed depending on the helicopter's designation.

The Ansat will be of interest to a wide variety of helicopter operating companies. It has the largest cabin in its class and can be converted to suit different needs. Seven different versions of the model – transport, passenger, VIP, search and rescue, training, medical and firefighting – will be displayed. Two Pratt&Whitney PW207K engines that meet the latest sector standards provide reliability and high performance characteristics.
