OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2012. NC KazMunaiGaz JSC: the program for attracting investment to new industries in Mangistau, Atyrau and Western Kazakhstan oblasts of the RoK aims at solving employment problems of the population in the region.

From September 24 through September 26 the Investment Forum "Establishing new industries in Western Kazakhstan" is held in Aktau. About 500 delegates participate in the Forum; the program includes reports of 10 high-ranking speakers at meetings, round tables and a visit to production sites of Mangistau oblast.

The Forum is founded by KAZENERGY Association, NC KazMunaiGaz JSC (KMG), Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO), North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC), Tengizchevroil LLP. The event is held with the official support of the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the RoK, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the RoK, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of the RoK, Akimats of Mangistau, Atyrau and Western Kazakhstan oblasts, “Kazakhstan’s Council of Foreign Investors” Association.

Sauat Mynbayev – the Minister of Oil and Gas of the RoK, Asset Issekeshev – the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the RoK, Gulshara Abdykalikova – the Minister of Labor and Social Security of the RoK, Lyazzat Kiinov – the Chairman of the Board of NC KazMunaiGaz JSC, Tim Miller – General Director of Tengizchevroil LLP, Zhakyp Marabayev – Deputy Managing Director of NCOC, Luca Vignati – Operations Director of KPO, Lord Waverley – head of British-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Group in the Parliament of Great Britain will join the ranks of the Forum Speakers.

Among delegates of the Forum there are heads of international and Kazakhstan’s oil companies, equipment producers, service companies and also representatives of foreign trade chambers and different associations.

The Aim of the Forum is development of potential of western regions of Kazakhstan, establishment of new enterprises to satisfy needs of the largest oil and gas projects, and also specification of new investment opportunities in other economy sectors of the region.

As expected, the event will become an important base to discuss new investment opportunities, issues related to establishment of new industries, business expansion, networking with all representatives of the market both on the part of the state and on the part of large and medium-sized business.

Among the main topics of the Forum there are future projects in the Western Kazakhstan, investment climate, opportunities for establishing new production capacities in the western regions of the republic, needs of the largest oil and gas projects, technical features of promising industries, discussion of perspectives and establishment of long-term collaboration with oil and gas companies.

The Forum aims at solving definite tasks such as creation of new jobs and development of local content with maximal expansion of employment opportunities and professional growth of the local population in the oil-producing regions. During the event possibilities of implementation of concrete projects, which attract foreign investments to industrial sectors of the economy, will be presented and discussed. A significant emphasis will be laid on the oil and gas industry, but also other directions will be represented including agriculture, tourism, renewable energy, water cleaning and machine building.

The Project is an initiative of KAZENERGY Association and NC KazMunaiGaz JSC.

The Chairman of British-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Group of the Parliament of Great Britain, Local Content Development Adviser to the Chairman of the Board of the NC KazMunaiGaz JSC Lord Waverley: “Western Kazakhstan is a new and interesting market with huge economic potential. During the Forum a wide range of reports and presentations, which demonstrate serious intentions of the Government of Kazakhstan in relation to stimulation of economic growth in the west of the country and show significant opportunities for companies which aim at becoming partners in the economy development, will be introduced to the delegates”.

One of results of the Forum will be an announcement of 10 best commercial opportunities for goods delivery for the oil and gas industry – the enterprises which will develop in Kazakhstan in partnership with foreign companies. Besides the members of the Government of the RoK and representatives of oil and machine-building companies, delegates from business representatives will take part in the event.
