OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2012. Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu, who was paying an official visit to the Republic of Congo, inspected the project site of Geely Water Plant undertaken by CMEC, reported the press-centre of CMEC.

At the project site, Project Manager Xi Weimin introduced the construction size, progress, water treatment technology and process of the water plant. Mr. Hui spoke highly of the work done by CMEC and expressed sympathy for all the Chinese staff of CMEC who were stationed in Congo. 

In the afternoon, in the witness of Mr. Hui and President Sassou of the Republic of Congo, the loan agreement for the OLF highway project and the Phase II of the national telecom backbone network project undertaken by CMEC was signed in the Presidential Palace  in the Republic of Congo.

The Phase I of the national telecom backbone network project, a support project for the Phase II was approved in March 2012 and is under construction. After completion, these projects, together with other CMEC projects that have been completed, such as the Imboulou Hydropower Station project, the power transmission and transformation project and the OBO northern highway project, will provide the “source of light”, “source of life” and “information expressway” to Congolese people and bring them substantial and tangible benefits.
