Sludge Station of KIFANGONDO Inaugurated in Angola
OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2012. CMEC staff joined Angolan friends in celebrating the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the CMEC-undertaken sludge station of KIFANGONDO water supply project, reported the press-centre of CMEC.
It was our great honor to have President of Angola Mr. Jose Eduardo Dos Santos and First Lady Ana Paula who were invited by EPAL, the client of the project, with us at the ceremony.
Among the cheerful Angolans, Mr. President walked along the red carpet into the station. His eyes were first met with an airbrush painting with the logos of CMEC and EPAL on it, which showed the project’s role in environmental protection and its far-reaching social effects. An EPAL representative gave a full and clear introduction to the project.
According to him, the station is the first environmentally-friendly project in Luanda for the disposal of factory effluent from the new 60,000-ton Candelabro water plant and the old 50,000-ton Kifangondo water plant.
The President unveiled the bronze plate marking the completion of the project and pressed the button to start the large sludge disposal equipment. As the machine started running amid a thunder of applause, our staff who have worked wholeheartedly day and night on this project also smiled proudly.
