POSCO Center Hosted Joint Wedding of Six Multicultural Couples
OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2012. The joint wedding ceremony of multi-cultural families hosted by POSCO and led by the Gangnam-gu, Seoul, was held at the POSCO Center Art Hall, reported the press-centre of POSCO.
POSCO has been supporting the joint wedding ceremony since 2010 to help multi-cultural families settle down and lead stable lives in Korea in collaboration with the Gangnam-gu. Participants in this year`s event were selected from among multi-cultural families residing in Gangnam-gu who weren`t able to hold a wedding.
The third joint wedding this year was held for six couples comprised of three Chinese couples, two Vietnamese couples and one Cambodian couple. The wedding theme was based on stories of these multi-cultural families, and various events were held including a love serenade with the brides and grooms and love pronouncements.
Particularly, the brides` parents were invited to attend the ceremony, and the families were sent on a family trip to help the immigrant brides quickly settle into their new lives in Korea and promote a close relationship in their families.
CR Division Head Kim Eung-gyu wished happy marriage to the six wedded couples, and said on behalf of POSCO, ``Given the two people who were born in different places and use different languages became man and wife, I wish the couples to try to understand and recognize strengths and goodness of each other to promote a happy marriage life.``
A Chinese bride who participated in the wedding said, ``I really wanted to have my wedding in Korea, but things didn`t go my way. I am very happy to have my parents here in Korea for the first time during my life of six years in Korea.`` She vowed to make an effort to create a beautiful future as a member of Korean society.
The joint wedding was attended by various companies in the community such as Wedding & Style Rian, MMC, OurHome, Abigail, With, Ilovejini, Love Classic and Serendipity to congratulate the wedded couples, and POSCO Family participated as volunteers for the event.
