OREANDA-NEWS. September 25, 2012. The first batch of nanoSIM cards arrived in all stores of MegaFon http://moscow.megafon.ru/help/offices/our_offices/ in Moscow and its outskirts.

From now on, any MegaFon’s subscriber can get a nanoSIM with any available price plan or swop his regular SIM for a nanoSIM. Everyone can retain his setups and existing price plan. Each SIM swop is free of charge in any store of MegaFon.

The size of nanoSIM is 9?12 mm, new chip is 15% thinner than SIM card of prior generation. For comparison: profile of current SIM card is 25?15?0.76 mm, microSim — 15?12?0.76 mm. Thus, nanoSIM is more space-saving than microSIM originally applied in iPad in 2010 and now used in many popular smartphones as HTC One X, Nokia Lumia 900, Sony Xperia S and Samsung Galaxy S III.

"Now the adepts of the Apple Cult can get nanoSIMs even today," said Natalia Spitsyna, commercial manager of MegaFon’s Moscow branch. "We took care in advance, that they could (as well as the users of other companies’ gadgets with nanoSIMs) connect their devices without any problem to MegaFon network — the network featuring high speed mobile Internet. New SIM cards are now available for MegaFon customers in the web-shop of MegaFon, web shoppers can pick up any in the range of SIM cards: conventional SIM or microSIM or nanoSIM.
