FAS to Verify Legitimacy of Restrictions Imposed upon Duty-Free Shop
OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2012. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against the Ministry of Economic Development, Investment and Commerce of the Saratov Region upon signs of violating Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The Ministry issued an order to suspend a license of “AeroTradeService” Ltd. – an operator of duty-free shops – for retail sale of alcohol products in “Kurumoch” airport and “Samara” airport due to breaching the licensing requirements.
According to the Ministry, “AeroTradeService” Ltd. failed to submit a declaration on retail sale of alcohol products. Earlier the Ministry refused to accept company’s declarations on the volume of retail sale of alcohol products in the Samara region because the declarations did not have the registration number of a supplier / producer license and the date of issuing the supplier / producer license.
A supplier of “AeroTradeService” Ltd. is a foreign company – a resident of the Federal Republic of Germany. Under the law of the Russian Federation foreign suppliers cannot and must not have licenses for buying, storage and supplying alcohol products. Therefore, by law “AeroTradeService” Ltd. could not and must not have specified the information requested by the Ministry in the declaration submitted by the company.
The case is scheduled for 25th October 2012.
