Household Disposable Income Up 6% in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2012. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in real terms, Consumer Price Index included, it grew 1.9%.
The most important source of income was a salary, making 43.7% of the total income of the population. Its contribution declined 0.3% as compared with the same period of the last year. The second important source was social allowances, being 19% of the total income, 0.2 p.p. down as compared with the past year.
Shares of pensions and social allowances increased 1 p.p. and 0.6 p.p. respectively in the structure of household disposable income. Incomes from individual farming were 9.8 % of the total amount of disposable income, with incomes form individual non-farming activities being 6.3%. An important source of the incomes of the population is remittances from abroad. In Q2, 2012 they made up 15.5% in the structure of household disposable income of the population, 1.1 p.p. up as compared with the past year.
In absolute terms they grew 14.4%. Incomes of the urban population were 665.7 leis (1.5 times) more upon average than those in rural ones. The main source of incomes for urban inhabitants is a salary which makes the 57% share of the incomes (against 56.1% in Q2, 2011) and social allowances which make 15.7%. The main source of incomes for rural inhabitants is a salary too which makes the 28.5% share of the incomes against 29.9% in Q2, 2011. 19.6% of incomes of rural inhabitants were those received from farming.
Besides, as compared with the urban population, the rural one is more dependent on remittances from abroad the share of which made up 19.1% and 12.4% for rural and urban inhabitants respectively. Alongside with this, the rural population received a greater amount of social allowances which contributed to their incomes 22.6% against 15.7% in cities. In the structure of household disposable income monetary incomes are dominant, being 89.1% against 10.9% of natural incomes.
