OREANDA-NEWS.  September 21, 2012. According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency, one of oil products retailers notified the Agency about its intention to raise the petrol price by 0.5 leis and the diesel price by 0.4 leis per litre.

The name of the retailer is not specified, but, as ANRE states it is one of the major market operators and the only company which has declared the raise. The reason of the forthcoming increase in prices for diesel and petrol is explained by their higher international prices. It should be reminded that prices for diesel and petrol at filling stations were raised at the end of August by 0.5 leis per litre approximately.

Nat present Ai-95 at filling stations of major retailers is 17.16-17.20 leis per litre. The diesel price makes 16.15-16.19 leis. According to ANRE, the average retail price for petrol was 16.43 leis per litre in the first half-year of 2012, 7.1% up as compared with the same period of 2011. The retail price for diesel grew 8.5% to 15.56 leis per l. and the price for gas increased 12.1% to 8.26 leis per l.

That increase in retail prices for oil products was determined by their higher import value due to a growth in oil quotations and Platt?s prices in international markets. For example, in the global market the retail price for petrol averaged USD 1102 per t. in the first half-year of 2012, 9.3% up as compared with the same period of 2011. The average price for imported diesel amounted to USD 1031 per t. (+4.6%), being USD 843 per t. for liquefied gas (+4.7%).
