OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2012. Doctor Web has released an update for its Dr.Web 7.0 for Android. The update incorporates several upgrades to improve the security of the mobile device and the program's usability.

Now, when Dr.Web for Android detects malware, it informs the user whether the threat is a brand new species or a modification of a known program. Known malicious files are not sent to the virus laboratory, only new modifications. Files appearing on the threat list after a custom scan can be sent for analysis to Doctor Web too.

The number of supported archive formats is also increasing; Apple's .IPA format has been added to the list.

Important changes have been made to the anti-theft module. Any mail account can now be used for activation, not just Gmail. Users can also choose to see the password they are entering. The enabled Anti-theft module no longer blocks the program's removal if the license has expired.

Updating and renewing a license for Dr.Web for Android is now easier. Users who downloaded the product from Doctor Web's site now receive notifications about available new releases. At the same time, the version available on Google Play lets you, if necessary, specify a valid serial number and download a license key.

Minor UI tweaks and Turkish interface support have been added. The application's stability has improved.

Dr.Web for Android 7.0 can be downloaded from the official Doctor Web site or Google Play. To update their current anti-virus, users who downloaded the package from www.drweb.com must reinstall Dr.Web for Android. If downloaded from Google Play, the anti-virus will be updated automatically.
