OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2012. Sberbank of Russia and Tele2, a European mobile telecommunications operator, have announced the launch of Autopayment, a new service that allows Tele2 subscribers to automatically top up their mobile phone accounts from their bank card accounts. Signing up for the service is free. There are no commission fees for Autopayment, reported the press-centre of Sberbank.

The unique feature of Autopayment is that the mobile phone account is automatically topped up when its balance reaches the threshold of 10/30/50 rubles (depending on the option one selects). The customer determines the amount to be added within the range of 50 to 10,000 rubles. The money is transferred from a Sberbank international card account to the account of the Tele2 subscriber. Autopayment can be set up for several phone numbers.

"Autopayment, which was introduced very recently at Sberbank, has already gained wide popularity; currently, this service is used regularly by more than 4 million people," stated Igor Mamontov, Director of the Payments and Transfers Department for Sberbank of Russia. "The convenience of the service is already appreciated by subscribers of MTS, Megafon, Beeline, BaikalWestCom and NSS."

"Tele2 is implementing advanced capabilities for topping up accounts with no commission. That's why we are interested in cooperating with the banking sector and, in particular, with Sberbank. After signing up for Autopayment, subscribers don't need to worry anymore that their account will run out of funds; the phone's balance will be topped up automatically," stated  Inessa Galaktionova, Commercial Director of Tele2 Russia.
