Slovenia Seeks Azerbaijani Investments
OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2012. Azerbaijan and Slovenia held a business meeting in Baku today.
Within its framework, Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev has stated that the parties agreed to fasten the process of signing an agreement on mutual encouragement and protection of investments.
"This is a very important document for entrepreneurs," Mustafayev said.
He also noted that despite the development of bilateral ties the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Slovenia is very low and does not conform to the existing potential.
"Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation with Slovenia in the field of construction, tourism, infrastructure, ICT," Mustafayev added.
Minister of Economic Development & Technologies of Slovenia Radovan Zerjav pointed out that Azerbaijan and Slovenia want to improve conditions for activities of two countries’ entrepreneurs.
"We discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of hydropower, renewable energy, and construction of roads. Besides, there are projects for implementation of which we are interested in attracting Azerbaijani investments," he stressed.
In turn, acting head of the Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Rufat Mammadov said that the Foundation may open a branch in Slovenia in the future.
