OREANDA-NEWS.  September 18, 2012. 7.8 million tones of milk have been produced in Ukraine for 8 months of 2012, which is 2.5% up than during the same period of last year. In particular, agricultural enterprises increased their milk production by 13%. The director of the Department of Livestock of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Andriy Getya informed.

The director of the Department also noted that in households program of grants to pay for the preservation and maintenance of young cattle will stimulate milk production as livestock on these farms will grow gradually.

According to Andriy Getya, to reduce the cost of milk for Ukrainian consumers first of all we need to reduce the cost of production.

The Director of the Department added that the Government will send 100 million UAH for the establishment of agricultural cooperatives and helps everyone in organizational development issues.
