Romania to Meet Deadlines of Energy Projects Implemented with Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. September 18, 2012. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Titus Corlatean at a joint press conference held in Chisinau together with head of the foreign-policy department of Moldova Iurie Leanca.
The Romanian Minister reminded that the matter concerned projects on interconnection of national gas-transporting and power-generating systems by building the main gas pipeline connecting Ungheni and Iasi and several high-voltage power transmission lines. According to Titus Corlatean, implementation of these projects and matters of the broader trade-economic cooperation of Moldova and Romania as well as of attraction of Romanian investments in the economy of Moldova will be discussed at his meeting with Premier of Moldova Vladimir Filat and Vice-premier, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar.
The Minister of MFA of Romania stressed that in the course of meetings with the head of the government and Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of Moldova Anatolie Salaru matters will be discussed of road facilities development projects, namely the construction of bridges over the Prut, which will link the national road network with the European one. Besides, there are planes to broaden cooperation of the two states in culture and education. For example, the Minister mentioned the willingness of Romania to implement the joint project under the auspice of EU on rendering Moldovan people urgent medical assistance.
The head of MFA of Romania emphasized that Moldova and Romania are strategic partners and the latter is ready to support Moldova in all ways in its integration into Europe as well as to broaden and deepen political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two states.
