Such fairs are traditional for our country, but now there is growing its relevance, because a Ukrainian consumer wishes to avoid resellers and to buy products from the first-hand at a real price," Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.

The Minister highlighted that within August, 5,000 food fairs were held in different regions of Ukraine where there were realized 52,000 tons of products worth UAH 470 million. He also emphasized that now the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food always supports the holding of agricultural visiting fairs and discusses this matter at the appropriate weekly meetings.

"Right now, in September and October, when consumers are storing agricultural products for the winter period, the demand for it increases. Therefore, due to field fairs and chains of wholesale markets it’s possible to stabilize prices while avoiding resellers’ extra charges," said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
