OREANDA-NEWS.  September 18, 2012. Ukraine will send to the USA a group of experts to study the techniques of safe gas extraction that uses company Chevron on existing fields. This was started by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov during talks with representatives of the company.

"We want to send to the USA a group of our experts who will be able to study all the risks on the fields that are already being used" - said the Prime Minister and asked management of the company to assist in this issue.

According to Mykola Azarov, these experts will present to the Government the detailed report, which will be made public.

In turn, the general manager of Chevron Onshore Europe Derek Magness promised the company assistance in organizing such a visit and assured that Ukrainian experts will be provided with all the necessary information.

"Chevron Company always extracts hydrocarbons so that it is perfectly safe, and uses technology to work trouble-free and completely safe for the environment" - he stressed.

Derek Magness also noted that in October Chevron stakes a new well in Poland and he invites Ukrainian experts to be present and at the same time to see the technology of production.

"We look forward to when we start practical work and gas production at the Oleske gas field", - said the Chevron’s representative.

Recall Chevron was the winner of the tender for an agreement on the distribution of profits for Oleske Square (Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk Regions). Projected resources of the area are estimated at 3 trillion cubic meters of gas. At the stage of geological exploration it is planned to raise 1.3 billion investments and 25 billion at the stage of commercial development.
