OREANDA-NEWS.  September 18, 2012. Diversified industrial corporation EATON and the biggest Russian IT-distributing company MERLION have signed a supplementary distribution agreement on expanding supplied products range, reported the press-centre of MERLION. 

Being an official EATON’s Power Quality trend products distributor in Russia for more than a year, MERLION, has been successfully selling UPSs and power filters. As a result of signing a supplementary agreement in August 2012, MERLION is entitled now to sell EATON’s Power Distribution products in the Russian market. MERLION’s products portfolio has already been enriched with modular electrical equipment, including circuit-breakers and cabinets, the most popular EATON’s products of the Power Distribution category. The Parties have no doubts that this agreement and a new product in the range will permit MERLION to draw new partners into its dealership chain.

Mr. Anton Lukyanov, Director of MERLION’s IT Products Procurement department, remarks: “EATON’s products have gained a good reputation both in the world and in the Russian markets. Apart from the fact that they are among the most reliable and effective solutions for uninterrupted electric power supply, it is worth mentioning that they belong to products of European quality. Besides, they are universal: the same accessories match all modular automatic circuit-breakers; plastic cases (cabinets) include connecting bus bars, whereas other suppliers, normally, sell them separately.  I am sure that all these advantages, including a two-year’s warranty period from the manufacturer, will be highly appreciated by our partners and that EATON’s equipment will be highly demanded by them”.

Mr. Roman Suchkov, Head of EATON’s Electrical Engineering sector in Russia, made the following comments on the agreement signing: “EATON’s business model in Russia follows the world practice: supplies are made via a local partnership network, primarily, via the distributing chain. That is exactly why we consider it crucially important to find new ways of interaction, making use of the wide production range of  EATON and the competencies of MERLION, as the biggest player in the Russian IT market. I have no doubts that the expansion of our cooperation with MERLION will be essentially beneficial for both parties”.

The first shipment of EATON’s automatic circuit-breakers and plastic cases has already been delivered to the distributor’s warehouse. EATON’s specialists have held a training series on the new equipment for MERLION’s sales managers, it is planned shortly to provide training also for about fifty engineers of the technical center.
