Ukraine, Turkey Signed Regulations of Freight Railway-Ferry Service
OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2012. In order to implement the provisions of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the organization of direct international railway-ferry service between Turkey and Ukraine from 01.25.2011, within the framework of the Second meeting of the Strategic High Level Council between Ukraine and Turkey in Kyiv was signed the Regulations of settling the terms of cargo transportation and operation of freight cars.
The document was signed from Ukraine – by Acting Minister of Infrastructure Ukraine Kostyantyn Efymenko, from Turkey – by Minister of Transport of Turkey Binali Yildyrym.
The signing of these rules will complete developing a legal framework for the settlement of the issues of direct international freight railway-ferry routes between Ukraine and Turkey.
Application of the rules of ferry service will ensure reliable legal tool of settlement of railway-ferry transportations via Ukraine and Turkey, in particular will provide an opportunity for all carriers using transit potential of both countries in both links between Europe and Asia (transportation in directions East-West) and towards the Black Sea - Baltic Sea.
