OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2012.  SOCAR officials met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands Maxime Verhagen and the delegation led by him.

 Warmly welcoming the guests, SOCAR Vice President for Investments and Marketing Elshad Nassirov said the oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan played an important role in the country’s rapid development. He spoke about the large projects carried out by SOCAR in the country and abroad. Talking about the implementation of the new oil strategy founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev, SOCAR official said oil and gas production in the country reached record level and a reliable and diversified system of oil and gas export pipelines was created in a short time. Royal Dutch Shell has been among the companies which have taken interest in our country since Azerbaijan regained its independence. Dutch Deputy Prime Minister Maxime Verhagen expressed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan and said his country was interested in the development of bilateral relations.
