Another visit of representatives of Hermitage Genetics company which supplied pedigree livestock to the pig breeding complex of the project “PARK: Industrial-Agricultural Regional Clusters” was held within the cooperation agreement, according to which specialists of the Irish company obliged to visit the Omsk enterprise once in a quarter, reported the press-centre of Titan.  

Jerry Douglas, Technical Director on International Sales, and Ilya Korolev, director of Russian subsidiary, examined all sites of the pig breeding complex, which at present houses the animals: this is a pedigree farm, boar farm and growing farm. They were satisfied with condition of the animals, housing conditions and soft exploitation of sows. Indices of multiple pregnancy made the biggest impression on curators: on the enterprise one sow delivers 12 piglets, whereas in industrial pig breeding the good index is 10 head in one farrow.

Specialists of Hermitage confessed that they will hold pig breeding complex of PARK as an example for other enterprises around the world. Let us mention, that the record on multiple pregnancy belongs to the sow of large white strain, which delivered 21 piglets. Concerning the young animals, the Irish noticed good weight increment (more than 500 grams per day) and excellent health.

Reference: first turn of pig breeding complex “Petrovsky” was commissioned in August of the last year. The pig breeding complex was supplied with pedigree livestock of the Irish company Hermitage Genetics – almost three thousand animals of strains large white, landras and dyurok. Now the pig breeding complex houses more than 22 thousand head with approximately 20 thousand head of young animals among them.
