OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2012. Bratsk Mill has completed implementation of an investment project aimed to rebuild the locomotive depot used for rolling stock maintenance and repair. RUB 66.5 million was allocated for these purposes. Bratsk Mill uses the railway to transport stores within the Mill site.

The project is aimed to improve traction and rolling stock repair efficiency, to reduce costs of this type of works. To perform rebuild work, Ilim Group purchased special-purpose equipment, such as a car wheel lathe for machining the wheels in rail vehicles and bridge crane with an increased lifting capacity (over 32 tons). Auxiliary equipment was erected and depot employees received additional trainings. Aside from technical and economical benefits the project would significantly improve labour conditions of Locomotive Depot workers.
