Russia Makes Offer to Moldova on Gas Supply
OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2012. According to Russian mass media, this was stated by Premier of Russia Dmitry Medvedev at a press conference concluding the negotiations with head of the Moldovan government Vladimir Filat.
As commenting on the gas matter, the Russian premier noted it was discussed rather intensively. “ As for a solution, we have still searching it”, he remarked. Dmitry Medvedev explained that despite good relations with EU, Russia differs from this block on the matter of the energy policy. In particular, the point is the energy packages adopted by the European Union.
“Unfortunately, these packages strike at interests of Russia and its companies, including Gazprom”, Dmitry Medvedev said. He added that this is why a membership of Moscow’s partners matters when the matter concerns making comprehensive solutions in the energy sector. “We have made our offers and I hope our Moldovan friend will appreciate them”, the head of the Russians Government said.
In his turn, Vladimir Fiat stated the problem was rather difficult and requiring comprehensive approach. There is a need to come to an agreement on the gas supply to Transdniestria and on general terms of the deliveries. “I hope we will not be only searching for solutions but find them.
