Uzbekistan-China Business-Forum Held
OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2012. A business forum of representatives of entrepreneurial circles of Uzbekistan and China took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the event, dedicated to enhancing commercial-economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Alisher Shayhov particularly noted the consistent development of cooperation between our countries in all spheres, including in the economic sphere. The agreements, reached during the meetings of the heads of the two countries, serve as an important legal base of such cooperation.
A “most favored nation” regime operates between our countries in economic sphere. In 2011 the mutual trade constituted 2, 596 bln. US dollars. 382 joint enterprises with Chinese investment, 65 representative offices of Chinese firms and companies operate in Uzbekistan.
The members of the delegation of the Committee on development of international trade of Shaanxi province of China were presented with detailed information on continuing wide scale privatization process, results of economic reforms during the forum. The issues of implementation of joint high-tech projects at Navoi free industrial-economic zone and Angren special industrial zone were discussed.
- We want to strengthen and develop cooperation with Uzbekistan in agriculture, power industry, high-tech and tourism spheres, – said vice-president of association of social sciences of Shaanxi Hu Yu.- For example, our countries have huge potential for cooperation in tourism. Using these opportunities efficiently, we would like to develop trade-economic relations with Uzbekistan, strengthen cooperation in small business and private entrepreneurship spheres, and implement many joint projects.
Uzbek entrepreneurs familiarized themselves with economy of Shaanxi province, firms and companies, based in this province, opportunities for developing tourism at the event.
The participants exchanged views on further development of cooperation between countries in economic, investment, trade, small business and private entrepreneurship, power industry, agriculture, tourism, coal and chemical industry, car-making, attraction of Chinese companies to the privatization process in our country, implementation of several joint projects.
