OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2012. Belarus-based woodworking companies increased output 0.7% in January-July 2012 to Br4.276 trillion (USD 507.2 million), the National Statistics Committee told.

The output of fuelwood pellets grew 40% to 33,900 tonnes, parquetry flooring materials – up 16.3% to 277,600 square metres. Plywood output grew 7.5% to 98,600 cubic metres, fibreboard – down 5.6% to 27 million conventional square metres.

Timber output fell 2.2% in January-July 2012 to 505,300 cubic metres.

Furniture output expanded 7.1% to Br3.363 trillion (USD 398.9 million).

Inventories stood at Br224.2 billion (USD 26.6 million) as of August 1, 2012, 70.2% of the average monthly output.

Fibreboard inventories decreased 29.9% on the month to 2,300 cubic metres as of July 1, 2012, fuelwood pellets – down 26.4% to 800 tonnes, plywood – down 9.4% to 8.4 million conventional square metres, timber materials – up 3.1% to 18,800 cubic metres, parquetry flooring materials - up 0.5% to 66,000 square metres.

Furniture inventories totalled Br466.9 billion (USD 55.4 million), up 98.7% of the average monthly output.
