Ukraine to Reject 50% Localization
OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2012. The Government intends to move away from the strict requirements of 50% localization of completing parts when setting up new foreign enterprises in promising for Ukraine industries.
That was declared by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during a meeting with Rustam Minnihanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia).
"We consider a possibility that in promising industries for us in the early stages to reduce the level of localization from 50% down and then gradually creating the following conditions under which the placing in our territory of enterprises that manufacture completing parts will be profitable for the business," said Prime Minister.
Now Ukraine has a standard by which to open a foreign enterprise in our country it should be fulfilled the mandatory of the presence in its products of 50% share of raw, materials, components and spare parts of domestic production. The Government is going to revise this provision to encourage placing production in Ukraine.
