OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2012. Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Andrey Tsyganov took part in the 7th Seoul International Competition Forum, organized by Korea Fair Trade Commission in Pusan (the Republic of Korea), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Attendees included the heads of the leading competition authorities, experts in the field of competition policy and enforcement, representing the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and other international organizations, members of academia, practicing lawyers. The main objective was to exchange opinions on the most pressing issues of competition law and policy.

The Forum mainly focused on three key problems of competition enforcement practice:

1. Evaluation of the latest changes in antimonopoly law across the globe and consequences;

2. Studies of a possibility to coordinate competition policy / law and consumer rights protection;

3. Problems emerging as a result of overlapping antitrust and intellectual property issues.

Andrey Tsyganov informed the Forum participants with the latest changes in the Russian antimonopoly law and enforcement activities of FAS Russia. In particular, Deputy Head of FAS discussed the key provisions of the third antimonopoly package of amendments to the law and the main priorities of the Russian antimonopoly authority.
