OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2012. Kaluga Turbine Works OJSC (KTZ OJSC) company, member of Power Machines Group, has manufactured and successfully tested two steam turbines for Ilim Group OJSC branch in Bratsk.

Under the terms of a contract signed with Soyuz Power Development Corporation OJSC in June 2011, KTZ OJSC is to design, manufacture and supply two backpressure steam turbines: R-27-8,8/1,35 with a capacity of 27 MW and R-32-8,8/0,65 having a capacity of 32 MW.

KTZ OJSC has already supplied turbines to Ilim Group branch in Bratsk, established on the basis of Bratsk timber industry complex, before. The new equipment is required to renovate the turbine house of the branch’s TPP-3.

The tests on turbines have been conducted at a factory bench specially modernized for this order. Turbines R-27 and R-32 have become a completely new project for KTZ OJSC: the factory has never manufactured backpressure turbines of such a capacity before.
