SCM Attends 22nd Economic Forum
OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2012. On 4-6 September the Polish mountain resort of Krynica hosted the 22nd Economic Forum dedicated to a recovery from the global economic crisis and a search for new opportunities and goals in today’s competitive environment. The Forum is organized by the Warsaw-based Institute of Eastern Studies together with its partner institutions including the leading regional and international think tanks and research institutions and attracts over 2000 delegates.
This year the event gathered politicians, economists, representatives of academic community, think tanks and NGOs. The Forum featured 6 plenary sessions and over 100 discussion panels conducted in twelve thematic tracks: macroeconomics, business & management, energy, innovation & sustainable development, health, international politics, NGO Forum, the European Union & its neighbours, state and reforms, new economy and regions.
President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski attended the Forum’s opening ceremony, and Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk closed a series of round table discussions.
SCM was represented by Jock Mendoza-Wilson, Director of International and Investor Relations, who said: "The Economic Forum is recognised as the leading discussion forum in Central and Eastern Europe and focused on the economic and social challenges faced by the countries of the region and on discussion of common issues. The debates this year were very much on the challenging economic climate and the need for continued reform and innovation to compete in the global economy. The discussions focused on the real experiences of the countries and businesses in the region.”
