New Welding Equipment Put into Operation at TITANIT Plant
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2012. An additional welding unit is supposed to be used when manufacturing equipment for the construction site of Leningrad NPP.
Welding head suspension GPF-500m is intended for gas welding and building up or submerged welding and building up different purpose-parts and units. The need to have additional equipment appeared in connection with the need to increase production volume of metal structures and equipment for Leningrad NPP-2 construction site.
The plant's new equipment is capable to optimize the quality of products released and to reduce the labour effort of the personnel. GPF-500m is planned to be used when the weld joints of complicated bent branches of large-diameter pipelines are connected in automated mode.
Putting the weld equipment into operation will allow the plant to widen its production capabilities. The plant also uses hand-operated argon-arc welding, automated gas welding, automated submerged welding, and electrical resistance welding. There is also an automatic welding system ESAB A2 S Mini Master with the LAF 1000 source .
