Urea Production Unit Set New Production Records
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2012. A new urea production unit was commissioned on the site of Kemerovo JSC "Azot" (a part of the Joint Stock Holding Company "Siberian Business Union") on September, 5th 1982.
In the beginning of 1980s when there was a fundamental remodeling of the biggest chemical producer of Siberia, the outdated equipment, which had been in service for 10 years, was replaced by the new production techniques. A new large-tonnage urea production facility was built.
Foreign experts and the best engineers of "Azot" took part in the unit construction and commissioning. The start-up of the new workshop turned out to be an impressive record, set by the chemists of Kemerovo. It also made the reliable and highly efficient work a tradition. And the personnel of the plant follow that tradition up to the present day.
At present moment the urea production facility of Kemerovo JSC "Azot" is one of Russian biggest developing facilities, working steadily. Its production is in demand as in Russia, as abroad. The company has invested considerable sums of money in its development, the automation of control systems, which regulate complicated production processes, and quality management during recent years. The update of equipment, measures taken to enhance its efficiency and the efforts of the personnel made it possible to achieve excellent results in work and attain high production rates.
In 2011 "Azot" produced 574 000 tonnes of granular urea, which was mainly exported. This year during the turnaround in the large-tonnage urea production facility the measures were taken to enhance the equipment reliability. Also new assemblies and mechanisms were prepared for further installation. They will help preserve the high production quality and enhance the reliability of the unit.
Viktor Kazachkov, the Director General of "Azot", congratulated the personnel of the unit on that remarkable date. He highlighted its well-coordinated and efficient work, and wished further production achievements on the personnel. Aleksandr Stepanenkov, Vera Kovaleva, Raisa Vaseltsova, Aleksandr Andreev, Vladimir Tarasov, Viktor Belonozhko and others took part in the start-up of the unit 30 years ago. They work along with young chemical engineers. The experienced specialists instruct the young workers, and thus impart knowledge and experience of working in the complicated chemical production to them.
