Today we are very pleased to announce two senior strategic hires as part of the continued build out of the sector expertise and industry capabilities of the combined Sberbank of Russia and Troika Dialog platforms. Max Kolodkin and Sergei Chinkis join as Managing Directors, Co-Heads of Sector Investment Banking, for the company’s Investment Banking platform. Max and Sergei will both start in September, reporting directly to Todd Berman, Head of Investment Banking.

Max Kolodkin arrives from Goldman Sachs, having held positions in both New York and more recently Moscow, where he was a Managing Director with responsibility for developing the investment banking team. During his time at Goldman Sachs Max worked on many high profile transactions including the recent Unilever acquisition of Kalina, and handled mandates for global clients such as Diageo, Brown Forman, Coca-Cola, Walgreens and Home Depot. In his new position Mr Kolodkin will take day-to-day responsibility for running the Consumer & Retail franchise. He will provide managerial and leadership expertise to the Sector Heads of TMT, FIG, Real Estate/Building Materials and Diversified Industrials in order to ensure deep implementation of best practices across Sberbank and Troika Dialog’s client universe. Each of the respective sector heads will report directly to Max.

Sergei Chinkis joins from HSBC Bank, where he was a Managing Director and Global Head of the Metals and Mining Group. Sergei has over 15 years of experience in investment banking and has been involved in a number of high profile corporate finance transactions in the metals and mining industry, both in Russia and globally. This includes landmark transactions such as Polyus Gold’s reverse takeover of KazakhGold Group and Polymetal’s redomiciliation to the premium segment of the London Stock Exchange and its public offering, the first ever premium listing of a Russian company on the LSE. In this position, Sergei will take day to day responsibility for running the Metals & Mining franchise for Investment Banking.
