APEC CEO Summit 2012 Kicks Off on Russky Island
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2012. APEC CEO Summit 2012, chaired by Andrey Kostin, VTB Bank President and Chairman of the Management Board, finished in Russia’s Far East, reported the press-centre of VTB Bank.
Over 750 CEOs discussed such important issues as globalization and economic integration, cooperation in the monetary and financial sector, transport infrastructure, energy, food and water resources, and development of new technologies.
"It is a great honor for me to open the APEC CEO Summit here on Russky Island, which for years was a closed territory, but now is Russia’s main gate to the Pacific Rim. We’ll have to work under a very hard schedule as those tremendous challenges we face today require non-trivial approaches and breakthrough decisions. I am sure that the CEO Summit participants will have an open and fruitful dialogue".

APEC CEO Summit is an annual conference for the business elite of the Asia-Pacific Rim, held in line with the meeting of the heads of state during the APEC Summit. Business summits are held in the form of business forums with the executives from the APEC states, during which strategic issues of economic cooperation in the region are being considered. After the 2011 APEC Summit in Honolulu Andrey Kostin, VTB Bank President and Chairman of the Management Board, has been appointed as the 2012 APEC CEO Summit Chairman.
