OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2012. Moldovan-Polish business forum to be held in the autumn of 2012 in Chisinau in the framework of President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski. This was arranged by Minister of Economy of Poland Waldemar Pawlak and Minister of Economy of Moldova Valeriu Lazar at the economic forum in Krynice.

Waldemar Pawlak showed an interest to a higher share of the Polish capital in the economy of Moldova and assured Valeriu Lazar that he would support Moldova in DCFTA talks. In particular, Poland is going to share its experience in reorganizing enterprises and departments. Valeriu Lazar noted that macroeconomic parameters of Moldova, including its budget, external debt and inflation rate, allow implementing a comprehensive program to stimulate the national economy.

The matter concerns programs to modernize and develop national facilities, support and attract new industrial companies, open access of private capital to the energy sector and encourage investing in agriculture. According to the Ministry of Economy of Moldova, in the first 6 months of 2012 bilateral trade between Moldova and Poland amounted to USD 104 mln., 14% up as compared with the same period of 2011. Moldova’s export to Poland reached USD 38 mln., 7% up. At present, there are 17 companies with Polish capital in Moldova.
