Ukraine, Lithuania Cooperate in Agricultural Sector
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2012. Ukraine is interested in sharing Lithuanian experiences in reforming of the countryside, implementation of land reform, the development of regional infrastructure investment projects, fisheries and agricultural education.
This was announced today by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and Kazys Starkyavychyus, Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania at a meeting which took place at the National Exhibition Centre.
"Today, we discussed with the Lithuanian side a number of important issues, in particular, about strengthening cooperation in the successful implementation of land reform, the development of regional infrastructure investment projects, fisheries, and education.
We continue to work on a joint Ukrainian-Lithuanian program that provides training and consulting on reforms in the countryside. Another important aspect of today's dialogue was to discuss the issue of harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with European standards," Mykola Prysyazhnyuk informed.
