Ukraine to Set Up Committee on Regional Development
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2012. It has been decided to set up an Interagency Coordinating Committee on Regional Development. The Government has decided to establish an Interagency Coordinating Committee on Regional Development. Corresponding resolution designed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade pursuant to paragraph 11.2.1 of the National Action Plan for 2012 to implement the program of economic reforms for 2010-2014 "Rich society, competitive economy, effective state," and adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The purpose of the document is to provide an effective mechanism for harmonizing the actions of central and local executive authorities in making and implementing decisions on issues of regional policy, industry (sectoral) policies for regional development.
According to the resolution, the Interagency Coordinating Committee on Regional Development is being established as a temporary advisory body of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and it also will be approved by its provisions.
Chairman of the Interdepartmental Coordinating Commission is the First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.
The implementation of the document will improve the coordination of central and local executive authorities, local self-government in the formulation and implementation of decisions regarding the state regional policy, sectoral policies affecting the development of the regions, as well as increase the efficiency of decision-making on regional development.
