OREANDA-NEWS. September 7, 2012. The project to build a bleached pulp factory at OJSC Svetlogorsk Pulp and Cardboard Mill is currently in progress, an official with Bellesbumprom Concern told reporters.

The total value of the project is USD 864 million. The project is managed by China’s CAMCE Corporation, which is a subsidiary of SINOMACH Corporation.

As previously reported, Belarus took out a USD 654.164 million loan from the Export and Import Bank of China for a project to build a factory to manufacture up to 400,000 tonnes of sulfated bleached pulp on the basis of the Svetlogorsk pulp and pasteboard factory.

According to the credit agreement signed in mid June 2011, OJSC ASB Belarusbank shall be the agent bank to service the loan secured by the government of Belarus.

The new factory is expected to pay back the initial investments in 8.5 years. The factory will be running on locally available materials.
