CEO Chung Joonyang visited Pohang Steelworks furnace 4 and steel manufacturing, hot-rolled 2, and Rolling Technology Center, encouraging employees who have been committed to improving productivity and technology development, and emphasizing that these efforts are `POSCO source of competitiveness`, reported the press-centre of POSCO. 

CEO Chung encouraged employees who have given their efforts despite the scorching heat of summer to improve the environment and develop operation technology, and looked into the fine details so that they can work in a more comfortable and pleasant environment. Employees especially expressed their gratitude to CEO Chung for visiting the steelworks to spend time with them despite his busy schedule, saying they received the feeling of a warm and passionate older brother, and offered several surprise events including a shuffle dance, handwritten letters, and a magic show for a `special time for communication with the CEO.`

CEO Chung who first visited Cast House furnace 4, encouraged the employees who have been producing the most melted iron in one single furnace globally while making the work environment pleasant, and requested they continue to put their efforts into continuously improving the work environment and increasing productivity. The iron making factory 2 without additional investment also greatly increased the precipitation efficiency the moment when iron is released, which is also when the most dust occurs, and established a high iron release operation pattern, achieving both environment improvement and the world?s greatest melted iron productivity.

CEO Chung visited the steel manufacturing factory 2 and oversaw the steel release and bubbling sites, encouraging employees who improved the operation environment. Steel manufacturing 2 also increased the dust collector operation efficiency and improved other aspects around the work site through QSS activities, greatly reducing dust that occurs at the steel release and bubbling sites.

CEO Chung continued to the hot-rolled factory 2 and encouraged employees who have continuously improved the operation environment and requested to speed up development of endless high-carbon steel technology, and accomplish production of 5 million tons of endless technology early. Employees pledged to complete the endless technology with the attitude of `Pil-sa-jeuk-saeng (will live when resolute with death).`

CEO Chung who last visited the Rolling Technology Center, where the thick plate, wire rod, cold-rolled, hot-rolled, and energy division offices are located, requesting the establishment of a smart workplace for increased work efficiency through efficient work tuning and minimizing travel time, and cooperating between divisions. He also requested smooth communication with related divisions such as Quality Technology, Steel Manufacturing Divisions, and the Technology Research Center, to quickly respond to changes in the market environment.

Meanwhile, CEO Chung Joonyang continuously visits work sites and listens to employees` difficulties through breakfast or lunch sessions, executing employee first management.
