OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2012. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has announced record growth of banking assets after the bankruptcy of Royal Bank OJSC.

The CBA reports that as of 1 August banks’ assets soared to a new absolute record of AZN 14.978 bn from AZN 14.778 bn as of 1 July, exceeding the previous record of AZN 14.8 bn registered by 1 June 2012. Banking system assets have a positive trend in 2012 as earlier this year they were equal "only" AZN 14.259 bn.

The decision on bankruptcy of Royal Bank was made on 25 July 2012, and the banking sector did not notice that.
