OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2012. KAMAZ-5490 became the winner of the annual competition "The Best Commercial Motor Vehicle of the Year in Russia" in the nomination "Prospect of the Year". The ceremony took place in Moscow, within the limits of the Specialized International Exhibition AUTOTRANS/12.

The jury of the competition usually consists of authoritative journalists actively covering a motor transport subject area in their publications. They are editors-in-chief and observers of the following well-known editions: KomTrans, Avtopanorama, Avtopark, etc. The main criterion for nominees of the contest was contribution of a vehicle in transport efficiency improvement. Besides, the jury took into account the following parameters: innovative technical solutions, operating costs, sales volume, financial terms of purchasing, service and others.

KAMAZ-5490, which was for the first time introduced to the public a year ago, will replace the KAMAZ-5460 truck tractor. The new model uses the latest technologies developed both by KAMAZ and its partner – Daimler AG, Germany.

By the way, the high-sided truck tractor KAMAZ-65117 was named "Prospect of the Year" in 2010.
