Vnesheconombank Holds International Conference on Energy Efficiency
OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2012. A Russian-Swedish conference on energy efficiency was held in Moscow as part of the Russian-Swedish Business Council’s activity. The conference was organized by Vnesheconombank together with the Swedish Trade Council (Export Radet) with the participation of the Russian Energy Agency.
In the attendance of the conference were representatives of the largest Swedish companies specializing in developing and producing energy efficient technologies and equipment for industry and the housing and communal services sector, as well as representatives of Swedish government authorities, the Swedish Energy Agency.In the attendance of the conference on the Russian side were representatives of line ministries, major production-engineering enterprises, research-production associations and corporations, Vnesheconombank and its subsidiary – LLC VEB Engineering, energy-servicing companies from Moscow and Russia’s regions.
In the course of the conference our Swedish partners presented their latest achievements in energy efficiency including capabilities of using non-traditional and renewable sources of energy.
Russian representatives informed their Swedish colleagues on the situation in the energy efficiency sector and told them about their activity in studying international business experience including the development of “green standards” for energy servicing activity.
A total of more than fifty representatives of companies participated in the conference.
The Russian-Swedish Business Council is a non government, non-profit organization uniting Russian and Swedish companies and organizations irrespective of their forms of property. Vnesheconombank and Ericsson respectively are responsible for coordinating activities of the Russian and Swedish parts of the Council and for managing its executive bodies.
The Swedish Trade Council (Export Radet) is an organization responsible for promoting business ties of Swedish companies abroad. Main objectives of the Council funded by the Swedish Government and private companies are to promote Swedish exports as well as to provide information and consulting services to companies interested in developing ties with Swedish economic operators. The Swedish Trade council has been operating in Russia since 1994 and has its representative offices in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
