OREANDA-NEWS. September 6, 2012. Tata Power, India's largest Integrated Power Company won several awards at the National Award competition for Excellence in Energy Management 2012. Tata Power's Unit 6 at Trombay thermal Power Station was awarded the Energy efficient Unit in the 13th National Award for Energy Management held in HICC centre in Hyderabad on 24th August 2012.

Tata Power has also bagged two awards under ‘Innovative Energy Service' category for its two Demand Side Management(DSM) programmes:

The Most Innovative Energy Service Award -2012 for Thermal Storage Incentive DSM Programme'

Innovative Energy Service Award-2012 for Demand Response DSM Programme

In the final round, Tata Power's DSM Cell was also advised to put a stall for 2 days to demonstrate their product/services.

13th National Award competition for Excellence in Energy Management 2012 was conducted by CII at Hyderabad. More than 160 companies from various sectors participated in the competition for energy efficient units & innovative product/services.

Speaking on the awards, Mr S Padmanabhan Executive Director-Operations Tata Power said, "This is indeed a moment of great pride for Tata Power and we are delighted that our initiatives have been appreciated at a national platform. We are committed to driving energy conservation and efficiency at all our facilities and will continue to deliver the most innovative DSM initiatives to our customers."
