OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2012. Cathay Pacific announced the opening of a new First and Business Class Lounge for passengers travelling out of Paris Charles De Gaulle (Roissy) Airport.  The lounge, located in the new connecting building between Terminal 2A and 2C on Level 2, has an area of more than 600 square metres and can seat up to 120 people, reported the press-centre of Cathay Pacific.

The new facility features many of the new iconic design details employed in The Wing and The Cabin, Cathay Pacific’s award-winning lounges at Hong Kong International Airport, offering enhanced comfort and convenience for passengers departing from Paris.

Four shower suites allow passengers to freshen up before their long-haul flight, while an IT zone features six individual workstations installed with personal computers.  Free Wi-Fi and power sockets are also available throughout the lounge.  The dining area features a self-service buffet with a wide choice of hot and cold Western and Asian dishes. The hugely popular Noodle Bar serves freshly prepared Asian noodles.

The materials used in the Paris lounge provide an atmosphere conducive to relaxation. The decor blends the warmth of wood and bamboo with the elegance of white marble and black granite.  A row of large windows bathes the room in natural light to contribute to comfort and wellbeing of passengers. The windows also provide the lounge seating area with stunning views over the airport’s ramp and runway area. Positioned opposite to the windows are five unique Cathay Solus Chairs, designed around the diverse needs of individual lounge guests to provide a place to eat, work and relax.

The new Paris lounge is open to First and Business Class passengers, Silver and above Marco Polo Club members and Sapphire and above oneworld members.

In addition to the opening of the new lounge, Cathay Pacific is introducing a second daily flight between Hong Kong and Paris as well as new products onboard. From 2 September, passengers on the CX261/260 flight pair can enjoy the airline’s new Business Class – recently named the World’s Best Business Class in the Skytrax poll – as well as the recently introduced Premium Economy Class and long-haul Economy Class seats. These flights will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

A newly added flight pair – CX279/CX278 – will be operated using an Airbus A340-300 aircraft. The CX279 service departs Hong Kong at 00:45am, while CX278 departs from Paris in the evening to offer more choice and greater flexibility for passengers.
