OREANDA-NEWS. September 04, 2012.   SNIIP, part of ROSATOM’s machine engineering division, Atomenergomash, has been certified and put on the list of “trusted suppliers” of the Slovak entity Slovenske elektrбrny.

At the present time the institute has been granted the status of a producer of the in-core monitoring equipment for Units 3 and 4 with VVER-440 reactors of Mohovce NPP, which is under construction. The equipment was designed by a SNIIP’s affiliate, the Innovation Firm SNIIP-ATOM. The supplied equipment functions as a computation complex of the in-core monitoring systems.

Late August, after the factory tests at SNIIP, the special-purpose equipment sets (SES) for Unit 3 of Mohovce NPP were subjected to the factory acceptance tests (FAT). On the Slovak part 8 specialists participated in the tests. The tests were conducted in full scope, with final records formalized. By request of the Slovak party, all equipment was subjected to a continuous (24-hour) performance check. No issues were raised in regard of SNIIP as a result of the tests.

The tests demonstrated that the complexes were of sound design proved by operating experience in the previous years, featured good performance and the absence of claims and issues. In October this year it is planned to subject SES intended for Unit 4 of Mohovce NPP to such tests.
