OREANDA-NEWS. September 04, 2012. The priorities of the Ministry of Defence is and will remain for the next year the establishment of compact, efficient Armed Forces, improve of the servicemen social status, primarily due to increasing cash cover and solving the housing problem.

That was reported by Dmytro Salamatin, Minister of Defence of Ukraine during a working visit to the Military Academy in Odessa.

"We can't postpone for later the solution of such pressing issues as housing, inadequate allowance of the military personnel, set up of contract army, a low technical condition of armament and military equipment," the Defence Ministry head pointed out.

According to Dmytro Salamatin, the Ministry of Defence is now working over the problems to which turned a blind eye for years.
