Canada Willing to Invest in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. September 04, 2012. Prime Minister Vlad Filat held a meeting today with a Canadian parliamentary delegation that is on a working visit to Moldova, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
Members of the Canadian delegation were David Anderson, the parliamentary secretary to the Natural Resources Ministry, and Dennis E. Doermer, senior market development officer of the Agriculture Ministry.
The purpose of the Canadian delegation's visit to Moldova is to deepen the economic and in particular agricultural cooperation between Canada and Moldova, as well as to identify potential investment sectors. The participants in the meeting discussed the initiation of Moldovan- Canadian cooperation in the agricultural and IT sectors and the attraction of Canadian investments in the Moldovan economy.
Filat welcomed the Canadian officials and noted that their visit is significant and strengthens not only person-to-person relations, but also the intergovernmental ties between the two countries. He thanked the Canadian authorities for creating living, studying and working conditions for Moldovan citizens in Canada.
"We will be able to implement investment projects through communication and cooperation. To this end, we need to press ahead with reforms both in the economic sector, as well as at the level of mindset, in order to ensure a stable modernization process," Filat said.
